Holy Spirit and You

And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever; John 14:16.1

Many believers do not understand who Holy Spirit is or understand how to fellowship with Holy Spirit who resides on the inside of us, who comforts us, and leads us into all truth.

The reason believers have no problem with understanding and acknowledging the Father and the Son- is because it requires no action except believing. The Father and the Son are two parts of the Triune Godhead with finished work in and for us. However, the Holy Spirit was sent to abide, lead, and guide and we can maintain fellowship with the Father and the Son.

To understand the Holy Spirit (Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God) and have fellowship with Holy Spirit requires us to believe and act. Look at the John 4:24 where the requirement to worship God is to worship Him in Spirit and in truth. This refers to fellowship through Holy Spirit and Jesus who is the truth. Look at Jude 1:19-21 the requirement here is to build ourselves up, by praying in the Holy Spirit (Ghost). Again there is an action required to maintain fellowship with the Father and the Son.

John 15:7 says If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you (NKJV). So if we abide (continue, dwell, remain, and stay) in the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, asking what we desire, it will be done for us. This is the act of will on our behalf allowing God to reveal His will and release every promise to us for our lives individually, within ministry and within the corporate body. The amount of effort we put into this determines the level of success in our lives.

Prayer: Father, thank You for empowering me with Holy Spirit. In Holy Spirit, You have given me a comforter, guide and help. I receive your Spirit to help me maintain fellowship in life with you. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Confession: I will build myself up praying and worshipping in the Spirit daily as I commune with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As a result I walk in the Spirit and can come boldly and blameless before the throne of Grace and receive the will of the Father for every area of my life; spirit, soul and body.
